Sean Akhavi scores a hole-in-one during the 2010 Jack & Jill Tournament

During the Jack & Jill tournament Sean stepped up to the tee on hole #16 (right side green) an hit a beautiful high soft fade that bounced twice before stopping a foot behind the hole and spinning back right into the cup!  You can't do better than that!  That shot helped Sean and Cindi Rohn finish in second place.  Excellent!

Jose Mendez hole-in-one during the September 5th Rancho Tournamen

Another cause for celebration was Jose Mendez's hole-in-one on #3. It was amazing how quickly word filtered back throughout the tournament field. The hole-in-one was part of shooting a 32 on the front. WOW!  There is no forgetting a hole-in-one during a tournament.

Reid Guill - Hole in One in the Club Championship

I started playing golf as a youngster so have been playing for over 50 years. My 1st hole in one was about 15 years ago at La Quinta's Dunes course.  This is my 2nd.

We played as a 3-some: Fernando Linares, Jim Gisondo, and me.  We were standing on the 8th tee battling squirrels when the group in front waved us up so I had that 4-some (plus a caddie) as my 'gallery'.

Fernando hit first and he was long and a little left of the front pin location.  Since the wind was quartering from about 10 o'clock, I used his ball as my target.  I hit my 2iron/5wood utility right on the screws on my intended line.

The ball never got above the tree line and the wind took it right back to the flag.  It was another of the many shots we all have executed or seen that looked really good in the air.  This one landed about 8 feet short of the hole, rolled right towards the cup and disappeared.

It wasn't exactly an Augusta roar, but we all did go nuts for a few seconds.

RPGC wants to acknowledge these rare and rewarding events by having the sweet shot published for posterity in the SCGA FORE Magazine.  Please use the Feed Back Form to send the information to the SCGA.

In addition to the recognition, RPGC members who make a hole-in-one at Rancho Park Golf Course in a club sponsored tournament will be acknowledged by the Board of Directors with a certificate of the event and a pin flag from the specific hole (holes 3,8,12, or 16).
